JOB SUMMARY

The Plant Manager directs the manufacturing operations of a business unit through a team of functional managers and supervisors. Ensures increasing levels of customer satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, machines, quality, productivity and on-time delivery. The Plant Manager ensures compliance with the corporate safety policy. The Plant Manager reports to the Vice President of the business unit.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Responsible for the manufacture and on-time delivery of quality product.
2. Directs the implementation of lean enterprise processes and methods to cycle time improvement, cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
3. Develops manufacturing plan to ensure effective use of staff and equipment.
4. Directs and monitors managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan.
5. Determines operations headcount needs and ensures compliance with company policies.
6. Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
7. Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations.
8. In a union shop, works with union representative on union matters within the guidelines of the company labor strategy. Works with corporate human resources to negotiate union contracts in accordance with agreed upon corporate direction.
9. Keeps current on information and technology affection plant operations to increase innovation, efficiency and productivity.
10. Develops, recommends and coordinates major plant projects (e.g. Plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc)
11. Performs other duties ans assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in industrial management or equivalent.
2. Experience: Five years of experience in manufacturing management.
3. Skill: Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Good organizational skills and personal leadership skills required. Must have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. Must be familiar with MS Office software and business systems. Must be able to understands lean manufacturing concepts and initiates process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
4. Requirements: Must be fluent in Mandarin and English. Must be willing to travel.
